Freedom to Nurse in Public! Thanks to #jlika_cover

I got the chance to sample the JLIKA Multi-Use Carseat Canopy and Nursing Cover in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is a really chic-looking cover. I found the material to be really light, stretchy and soft; perfect for a lightweight nursing cover and for a carseat cover in the summer. (In the winter, I think you might want a heavier cover, just to aid in keeping baby warm.) As far as a carseat cover goes, I tried it with my Chicco Keyfit infant carseat and found the opening to be a bit larger than I would have liked, causing the cover to slip farther down the handle than I expected. (In the photo shown, it sits up a couple inches higher than mine does, though I’m not sure if that’s because Chicco handles are shaped differently/more narrow.)

I have heard great things about this style of nursing cover so I was eager to try it out. I really like that this has a tag at the top so that you know which end is up, especially when your hands are full and baby is hungry! I am an average size and the cover fits me well. It worked well for my older infant who is easy to latch but there might be more of a learning curve with a newborn who needs help latching because you need one hand to hold the opening open to see inside and if you’re already using one hand to hold baby you probably need the extra hand to help guide baby. But for where I am with my baby, I think it’s a great addition to my nursing arsenal and makes nursing in public much more comfortable for me.

All-in-all, I think it's a good item to have in my diaper bag, especially for nursing. As far as a carseat canopy, it will work in a pinch but I think I'll probably stick to one of my other ones since it falls down farther than I'd like on my carseat.
